Sametha Sri Vyaagrapureeswara swamy temple was worshipped by all living creatures like “Mandugam” (Frog) and “Vyaagram” (Tiger) as well as Maharishis like Tharpara Maharishi.
It is said by Kanchi Maha Periyavaal Sri Sri Jaghadguru Chadrasekara Swaamigal that Sri Nithyakalyani Amman in this village is comparable to two other famous Sri Nithyakalyani Amman one inUjjainin North India and another in a village near Ramanathapuram in southIndia.
