Sankara Madam of this village which is situated near Melakulam is an ancient sacred place for Brahmins of this village where various spiritual events namely Yajur Veda/Sama Vedha avani avittam, Panchanka Patanam during Tamil New year Day, and events like Sankara Jayanthi, Narasimha Jayanthi and Reading of Thula Puranam used to be performed in those days. Even now events like Anushakala Pooja is being Performed on regular basis.
Great Gurus like Sri Sri Maha Periyava, Sri Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, and Sri Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal , during their camp to our village had stayed here and performed Bhikshai and Sri Special Pooja. Also in those days Famous Yathis also used to make frequent visits to our village and stayed in this place.
