July 15, 2013 : Balalayam of Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple
With the blessings of Sri Varadharaja Perumal , Sri Nithyakalyani Amman, and other well wishers , SNASS conducted the Balalayam Pooja for Sri Varadharaja Perumal Temple on 15th July’13 ( Monday) between 09.00AM to 10.20AM ( Simha Lagnam). First kaala Pooja was conducted on 14th Evening which was followed by Second kaala Balalayam Pooja on July 15th morning.
The pooja’s started on the previous evening. Three”Bhattachariyars” were brought in to conduct the ‘Balalayam’. There was the first Kala Pooja on 14th July evening with ‘Purnahudhi”. The event started around 6.30pm and ended with distribution of prasadam around 10pm. On 15th morning, the pooja’s started at 6.30 am and after purnahudhi, the kumbams were taken around the temple by the three Bhattacharyars and abhishegam was performed. Then the Stabhadhi was given the respect and all the 11 stones kept in pooja were taken around the temple by various people of the village and were kept in the north west corner and performed pooja’s. As a symbol of starting renovation, the Stabhadhi then cemented lightly on one wall and the Balalayam concluded with distribution of prasadams in the temple.
The rituals were all done under the august guidance of Shri. M.S.Sasthrigal It was a very satisfying event and well attended by the local villagers in good numbers. There were a few participants from outstation as well.
The estimates for renovation works are under way and we will post further updates soon.
We hope with the blessings of Shri. Vyagrapureeswarar and Shri Anjeneyar, the renovation works would begin soon and go on well to culminate in conducting Kumbhabhishegam within a realistic time frame.
